Brief Introduction

Following business expansion and the experiences of the Great East Japan Earthquake of the previous year, the headquarter moved from Nishi-Nippori, Arakawa-ku to the current location in Okachimachi, Taito-ku, in 2012.
The headquarters is located next to Ueno, Akihabara and Asakusa, with Metropolitan Expressway Route 1 right in front of it, and adjacent to many railways, including JR, underground and private railways, with very good access to the Shinkansen (Tokai, Tohoku, Hokuriku and Hokkaido lines) and both Haneda and Narita airports.

Saitama Factory

Saitama Factory

Saitama factory, located in Koshigaya City, Saitama Prefecture, was established in 2004 in the form of a consolidation of small
plants that had been spread out in the same area. It is located within 25 kilometers of Tokyo and only a 30-minute ride on the
Tokyo Skytree Line from its headquarters.
Saitama Factory is capable of integrated manufacturing from needle design to grinding and assembly, and is always at the center
of Unisis' manufacturing activities as a mother factory that manages cooperative partners located all over Japan and Hokkaido factory.

BRIEF INTRODUCTION

  • Approximately 1 hour from Tokyo Station, the Unisis Saitama Factory has been in operation since January 2004 in Koshigaya City where the Tobu Isezaki Line and JR Musashino Line intersect.
  • Our Saitama Plant integrates assembly and cannula manufacture, which were previously performed in two separate plants. The plant is capable of all phases of the needle production process, from design and grinding to assembly.
  • The first floor is used for cannula production (grinding, processing, cleaning) and shipping.
This floor is equipped with newly introduced processing devices, including custom-built grinding disks. We have expanded our manufacturing equipment while taking the utmost care to secure an optimal environment for the final cleaning process.
  • The second floor houses a Class 10000 clean room for product assembly. The environment is functionally equivalent to a Class 1000 clean room. Powerful devices, including static eliminators, have been installed to ensure cleaner processing.
  • We care greatly about our environment and installed an eco-friendly drainage system.
The plant is partially barrier-free and supports wheelchair users with elevators and rest rooms that are specially equipped.

Logistics/Sterilization Center

Logistics/Sterilization Center

Logistics/Sterilization Center was established in 2009 in the neighborhood of the Saitama factory to strengthen the supply of packaged and sterilized products, which have been increasingly requested by customers along with business expansion. Currently, it is the only base where sterilized products can be released for shipment, and employees from the Quality Division are stationed there to act as the center of quality control and regulatory affairs operations. From this logistics/sterilization center, Unisis products are shipped throughout Japan and around the world.

Hokkaido Factory

Hokkaido Factory

Following the experiences of the Great East Japan Earthquake in 2011, we started operations in Kita-Hiroshima City, Hokkaido, in 2015 as part of our business continuity plan (BCP). The primary objective of Unisis, a manufacturer of medical devices and other medical equipment, is to implement parallel production to avoid supply disruptions. In 2022, a new building for packaging and sterilization processes was expanded to enable shipping of sterilized products as a backup to the logistics/sterilization center. Moreover, having experienced a pandemic by COVID-19, we are also looking to collaborate with other companies in Hokkaido to manufacture products in a new medical field such as Heat Moisture Exchanger Filter.

Brief Introduction

In recent years, more and more natural disasters (torrential rains, typhoons, heavy snowfalls, etc.) have been occurring over a wide area, and this office was established in 2020 as a backup office for headquarters in Tokyo. Located near Hakata Station with easy access to the airport and the Shinkansen, it is expected to serve as a satellite office where sales and administrative operations can be conducted.

Kobe Liaison Office

Kobe Liaison Office

As a base in the Kansai region, we opened a liaison office in 2022 in cooperation with ImmuniT Research Inc. as a place to discover new technologies and jointly develop medical devices through business collaboration.

Kyushu Factory

Kyushu Factory

To meet growing manufacturing demand, we plan to establish a new manufacturing factory in Itoshima City, Fukuoka prefecture, as our third manufacturing base, following the Saitama and Hokkaido factories. Based on the knowledge gained at the Hokkaido factory, we aim to build an independent factory capable of performing all processes from assembly to packaging and sterilization.
It will be a new concept manufacturing factory, proactively introducing IOT, labor saving, etc., in response to recent social needs such as labor shortages and reduction of environmental impact.
